White paint still a problem?

I'm going to have a chance at a new TRD Pro in a week or so. It's white, I know Toyota had problems with white paint in the past. Is it still an issue?

 

Not for me. 21' SR5P.

 

I heard that the newer versions are good. And the whole Middle East is buying white Toyotas at least in the last 40 years. So cannot be that bad.

Non issue here on my 20 SR5.

 

The white issue was only on vehicles made here in the US from my understanding. Tacomas, Camry's etc. 4runners are made in Japan and shouldn't have that problem

 

No issues on my 2021 TRD OR….

Typical issues on my 2020 super white

 

I just traded in a 2020 white 4Runner and the paint was fine. No issues.

To my knowledge, the paint problems were much earlier and I think were on certain models, but not the 4Runner. My wife had a white 2011 Rav4 that had peeling paint, which started after 8 years or so. It was fixed under warranty. By the way, that was the only issue we ever had with that Rav4. When we bought my wife a new one in 2021, we gave the old one to her sister and it's still running like a champ.

 

Well, I could have said that Japanese white is better than Mexican white.

 

Zero issues on my last 2018 TRD OR traded W/63k, Have Ice Cap on my 2023 TRD Pro.

My '19 was white and the paint was perfectly fine. No issues at all in 4.5 years and 90,000 miles of ownership and it was always parked outside.

 

Nothing beats the Stormtrooper.
